TAIJIQUAN is literally the "grand ultimate fist" or "grand ultimate system" - of movement, meditation and the martial arts. GONGFU is time and effort. Chinese Martial Arts of many styles and disciplines all fall under this term. TAIJIQUAN is a form of INTERNAL QONGFU. Instruction in additional INTERNAL GONGFU styles begins with BAGUAZHANG and XINGYIQUAN. Instruction in EXTERNAL GONFU styles includes Northern and Southern Fist, Shaolin Long Fist, Animal Styles, Chin-Na Joint Locking and Self Defense, a diverse array of Exotic and Classical Chinese Weapons, and more. Empty handed striking and kicking skills are developed in practice and later refined through two person routines and SANSHOU Free Sparring. CHAN is meditation. The original ZEN, an evolution of DHYANA, and the preferred enlightenment technique of the Chinese martial monks. Blending with the indigenous life nourishing systems of the Taoists and the unique character of ancient Chinese medicine and philosophy, the training grew from the 6th century onward to include stationary NEIGONG inner energy cultivation and spiritual alchemy, breath work and mind training - a complete strategy toward an indestructible sense of well being and beyond.
